Reiki is the Japanese word for the all pervading life force energy.

It consists of the part Rei = universal and the part Ki = life energy (comparable with Chi in Chinese acupuncture).

Reiki is an energetic healing method which causes relaxation, calmness and energising, through lying on hands.

All of us have access to this life force energy since we are born. Everybody is able to cause healing with lying hands on someone else. As an instinct it is there when for example a mother puts immediately her hands on the body part of her child which got hurt or when we hit for example our knee on a table and we then put instantly our hands in pain on it.

But the ability of a Reiki - Practitioner is a lot increased through the transmissions/ initiations he/she got during the learning process from a Reiki Master and therefore the universal life force energy is able to flow much more thoroughly. This action is often called channelling.

Since Reiki is universal energy, this energy knows exactly where it is needed the most right now and thus flows exactly there.

Reiki is helpful with physical, mental and emotional problems to bring the person back into balance.

Reiki works in presence of this person or also in absence - as a distant healing.

Reiki can be easily combined with other energetic healing methods or with body work.
